This presentation will examine the principles behind learning by ear, using the Suzuki approach, in a way that applies to all instruments. Learning by ear is universal, even when the individual techniques for the various instruments are different. Presenter Bio: Kathleen Schoen has been teaching both flute and recorder since receiving her B.Mus degree from UBC in 1984. After beginning her Suzuki method training in 1997, she founded the Edmonton Suzuki Flute and Recorder Society in
