Information for the weekend:

  1. Parking: There are several options available in the area, depending on the location of your child’s classes. The parking list is available Plus d’informations ici

  2. McDougall Church and Stanley Milner Library: ONLY water bottles are permitted. No other drinks or food in these locations, please. Participants may go to the Banquet room at McDougall Church to eat if they bring a lunch. Please clean up after yourselves. 

  3. Instruments: Bring your instrument! Violin and Violas, make sure to bring your shoulder rest. Please ensure your child’s case is labelled with your child’s name. 

  4. Cellos and Guitars are available for rental at a modest cost from Long and McQuade. Instrument rentals must be reserved by October 28. Please complete this form.  

  5. Cellists and Bassists: Please bring your own stools and endpin holders to all events.

  6. Name Tags: All participants are asked to wear their name tags at all times during the event. 

  7. Music Stands: All Orchestra and Ensemble participants will require a music stand. Please ensure your stand is labelled with your child’s name. 

  8. Orchestra and Ensemble Music: All music has been sent out by email. Print and bring your music in a binder. If you have not received your music, please email Geneviève at chair@suzukimusiccanada.org.

  9. Review Lists: Please review these selections for your child’s classes at the event. Review lists Plus d’informations ici

  10. Registration: Upon arrival, please register at the venue of your child’s first class. If you ordered a Conference T-shirt, it will be available for pick up at this time.  

  11. SMMC Main Registration & Information Desk will be at the Sandman Hotel, Second Floor. Drop by any time with any questions.

  12. SMMC Event Volunteers are wearing bright Green conference shirts. They can be found at all conference venues. All of them will be happy to help you!

  13. Conference T-Shirts: If you ordered a conference shirt, it will be available for pick up at Registration. 

  14.  Lunch: Please plan to bring your lunch(es) or purchase lunch at nearby restaurants. Local food options list Plus d’informations ici

  15. Suzuki Social: Please wear your nametag for family entry to the Suzuki Social. All conference participants and their families are invited to ArtsHub Ortona starting at 5:45 pm. Dinner will be available for purchase from local Food Trucks. Music will start at 6:30 pm. Feel free to join the band for some numbers on your instrument!  

Tutti Rehearsal for Canadian Get Together – Sunday, November 9

Location: Edmonton City Hall – City Room: 1 Sir Winston Churchill Square

Harp students: please arrive between 12 pm and 1 pm to move instruments and tune

Cello students: please bring your own stools and endpin holders to all events

Arrival for tuning: 1:00 pm for all instruments, 1:15 pm for piano students

Tutti Rehearsal: 1:30 pm – 2:00 pm

 

Grand Finale Concert: Sunday, November 9, at 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm

Concert dress: Black bottoms, white or black tops (or Conference t-shirt)

Ready to play: 2:15 pm
